Abstract
Ce texte s’intéresse à une question commune qui traverse trois livres de Susan Neiman, philosophe spécialiste des Lumières : Grandir. Éloge de l’âge adulte à une époque qui nous infantilise (2021), Penser le mal. Une autre histoire de la philosophie (2022) et Left is not woke (2023a). Il cherche à d’abord à mettre en lumière, puis à critiquer la réponse que propose Neiman à cette question : de quelle manière pouvons-nous ou devons-nous négocier, en grandissant et en vieillissant, l’écart qui sépare une vision réaliste du monde (ce que le monde est) et une vision transformatrice de ce dernier (ce que le monde devrait être) ?
