Virtual Reality (VR) can revolutionize the way clients, end users and architects visualize design concepts at different stages of design development.Research studies applying VR in various architectural domains, including healthcare, have sought to improve communication between clients/ users and designers to facilitate design decisions.Effective design communication is important in healthcare due to resource constraints coupled with risks that poorly informed designs pose for patients, care partners and healthcare workers.This case study involves observing workflows within a pediatric complex care clinic to gain insights on how VR might support the design of a new clinic.The second part involved modeling and evaluating the proposed design for the clinic's exam rooms using VR platforms.The results outline the benefits that can be derived from using VR technology in developing healthcare environments, as well as issues and opportunities for improvement for architectural practice.
