Development and Comparative Analysis of Wind-Tunnel Test Setups for Inter-Turbine Duct Studies
Bibliographic record
Abstract
This thesis documents the design efforts of two experimental test setups, a high-speed annular-flow test section and a low-speed rectilinear configuration, in support of gas turbine flow investigations with an immediate focus on intermediate turbine duct (ITD) aerodynamics. The annular test section integrates with the air-supply system of the blow-down wind tunnel at Carleton University for the study of annular ducted flows at Mach numbers corresponding to the compressible subsonic flow range. An ITD specimen is designed for commissioning of the annular test section to confirm its suitability for such a test specimen geometry. To support this ITD research, a rectilinear ITD test specimen is designed for the purpose of obtaining flow measurements with higher spatial resolution than is possible on the high-speed wind tunnel. A CFD-based investigation is performed to evaluate the suitability of the complementary use of annular and rectilinear experimental setups for the study of ITD aerodynamics.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
