Tornar-se educador/professor é um processo individual e, ao mesmo tempo, coletivo, que exige a simbiose interna de ação, experiência e emoção, no sentido de constituir uma ação total de uma pessoa no desempenho de uma profissão específica. Este texto parte de uma abordagem sobre os princípios básicos da formação de professores, para focar na análise do presente, buscando desvelar problemas e potencialidades existentes, e abrindo desafios para essa missão que é formar educadores e professores para um futuro, que agora sabemos ser incerto, mas no qual a garantia da educação deve permanecer como um direito das crianças, prevenido e promovido por seus educadores e professores.
