Abstract
Canada and the United States have had their share of maritime disagreements and some, like the Beaufort Sea, remain unresolved after decades of discussion. While the two neighbors have found pragmatic ways to manage the “dispute,” new forces, especially global climate change and geopolitical instability, provide a strong impetus to reach a negotiated settlement.
