Abstract
This article addresses the question: What are the implications of Russia’s war on Ukraine for the delineation and delimitation of Russia’s continental shelf in the Arctic Ocean? It concludes that the war is having little effect on the delineation process. Furthermore, the Commission’s acceptance of most of Russia’s conclusions regarding seafloor highs are highly advantageous not only for Russia but potentially also for Canada and Denmark/Greenland. Russia’s war on Ukraine has negative implications for delimitation, at least in the short run and, depending how protracted it is and how much animosity it generates, also in the longer term.
