L’hétérophonie « statistique » et l’oralité dans <i>Momente</i> et <i>Telemusik</i> de Karlheinz Stockhausen

Abstract
Cet article étudie l’hétérophonie dans la théorie et les oeuvres de Karlheinz Stockhausen (1928-2007). Il s’intéresse aux écrits et aux partitions de Stockhausen à l’aune des travaux théoriques que l’ethnomusicologue estonienne Žanna Pärtlas propose sur l’hétérophonie. Stockhausen associe cette texture à la composition dite « statistique », qui lui permet de répartir les hauteurs et les durées de façon aléatoire. Cette pratique se manifeste par la notation graphique dite qualitative et l’exécution plus libre par les interprètes de Momente , mais aussi par l’insertion d’échantillons sonores de musiques traditionnelles et extraoccidentales dans Telemusik . Il apparait que l’hétérophonie et la musique « statistique » s’intègrent plus largement dans une nouvelle forme d’oralité musicale propre au XXe siècle qui peut être qualifiée, après Paul Zumthor, d’oralité « seconde » — c’est-à-dire une oralité qui s’est développée dans un contexte d’« hégémonie de l’écriture » — et « médiatisée » par les nouveaux dispositifs électroniques.
