Abstract
L'anthropologie économique a connu de multiples développements depuis ses débuts au 19e siècle avec l'évolutionnisme de Morgan). C'est vraiment dans les années 1920, avec Malinowski et Mauss, que cette discipline a commencé à se développer. Polanyi en 1944 a critiqué l'économie classique et l'économie marginaliste en la pré.sentant comme inadéquate pour parler de sociétés autres que les société capitalistes. Depuis ce temps, l'anthropologie économique a rejeté l'application universelle des méthodes et concepts de la science économique, faisant valoir que les sociétés tribales ou d'horticulture ne fonctionnent pas selon le modèle de l'économie proposée par cette discipline. Dans les dernières décennies, l'anthropologie économique a connu des développements importants, influencés par la théorie de la modernisation, l'écologie, le féminisme, le marxisme. Ce champ de l'anthropologie est devenu un champ riche et diversifié.
