Abstract
L’Afrique compte d’innombrables groupes de femmes établis depuis des lustres. Ces groupes sont souvent vus comme des leviers pour soutenir l’entrepreneuriat collectif des femmes et assurer leur autonomisation. Qu’en est-il réellement ? Nous avons eu l’occasion de réaliser une recherche-intervention (RI) entre 2016 et 2019 auprès d’un groupement de femmes au Cameroun dans le cadre de la création d’une coopérative. Nous avons observé la volonté d’un homme, agent de vulgarisation de zone, extérieur au groupe, d’accompagner ce groupe de femmes, mais les modalités d’accompagnement n’étaient pas explicites. Cet agent privilégiait la recherche de financements externes au groupe alors que le groupe souhaitait mobiliser en priorité ses ressources internes. La coopérative en question n’est pas encore créée dix ans après l’impulsion initiale. Nous proposons une lecture des comportements des différents acteurs afin de mieux comprendre les causes de cet « échec ». La recherche montre que la présence d’un homme dans un projet porté par un groupe de femmes n’est pas positive pour l’évolution du projet et vient remettre en question leurs zones d’incertitude. Cela illustre que malgré les bonnes volontés des programmes de soutien aux femmes, des risques d’instrumentalisation peuvent exister si une clarification des rôles des accompagnateurs n’est pas effectuée.
