Cy Twombly a mis en oeuvre une esthétique du brouillon éblouissante, réalisant des dessins hors genre qui supposaient d’abandonner les conventions, de libérer l’usage des couleurs et de se débarrasser des couches d’habitudes durcies par l’apprentissage, pour retrouver une énergie du gribouillage proche de (mais non réductible à) celle des enfants. Revenant sur la lecture qu’en propose Roland Barthes, on pense ici le caractère brouillon de ces oeuvres comme production aboutie, assumant absolument la rature ou l’hésitation.
