Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Relevance. Species belonging to the genus Syringa L. are highly ornamental. Recently, their significant spread beyond their range has been noted due to the manifestation of a high degree of ecological plasticity. The climate of Orenburg region is sharply continental, which limits the conditions of plant growth. In view of this, the range of flora, especially decorative ones, is sharply limited in the region. Therefore, the introduction of ornamental shrubs, such as lilacs, into the culture is an issue that deserves increased attention. The aim of the study is to select the most highly ornamental taxa of lilac, followed by determining the possibility of forming a long-flowering syringaria in the conditions of the steppe zone of the Orenburg region. Research methods. Registration of phenological observations of the generative phase of the vegetative cycle was carried out according to the program of unified phenological observations of plants according to BBCH. The assessment of winter hardiness (with a preliminary assessment of the climatic conditions of the three winter periods preceding this study) and the decorativeness of seven taxonomic units belonging to the genus Syringa L. using generally accepted methods was carried out. The results of the study and their discussion. High winter hardiness (group I) was determined in all the studied plants, with the exception of Syringa аmurensis vаr. japoniса. It has been established that the hybrids Syringa × prestoniae ‘Miss Canada’ and Syringa × pеrsiса, as well as the varieties Syringa vulgaris ‘Sensation’ and ‘Aucubaefolia’ can be considered the most decorative in the climatic and geographical conditions of Orenburg region. It has also been found that it is possible to increase the flowering period of lilacs in the conditions of the Orenburg steppe zone from 10-12 days, characteristic of each taxon separately, to 28-30 days when combined in one syringarium, taking into account a number of ecological features of lilac taxa manifested in acclimatization conditions.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
