Conceptual aspects of national standardization of organic agriculture

Abstract
The article deals with principles of national standards of EU countries, Canada, the USA and Japan as to transition to organic farming. In the article we conducted comparative analysis of these standards with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine «On the production and circulation of organic agricultural products and raw materials». The basic aspects of the plan for transition to organic production are proposed. This paper substantiates a number of requirements relating to regulations of transition from traditional to organic farming. It has been determined that for the development of organic production and protection domestic producers Ukrainian legislation should be harmonized with international standards system through the establishment of the National Standard of organic agricultural production.
