Abstract
A nova revolução tecnológica e os processos de digitalização empreendidos pelas empresas e organizações têm afetado as demandas em termos de competências técnicas e comportamentais nos ambientes de trabalho e trazem novos desafios à empregabilidade, especialmente para profissionais seniores. Este artigo investiga a percepção de gestores sobre as competências técnicas e comportamentais requeridas aos profissionais mais velhos, com 45 anos ou mais, que atuam no mercado financeiro em bancos privados no Brasil. Foram realizadas entrevistas com executivos de instituições financeiras, sendo que os resultados da pesquisa indicam que os executivos compreendem que o desenvolvimento de competências comportamentais se torna mais relevante em relação às competências técnicas. As competências mais requeridas são flexibilidade cognitiva (adaptabilidade), aprendizado contínuo, alfabetização tecnológica, comunicação e gestão de pessoas.
