Abstract
It is suggested that local cosmological expansion occurs in the Jupiter satellite system. First, the relative mean motion accelerations of Io, Europa, and Ganymede are close to the current value of the Hubble‐Lemaître parameter. Second, the rate of orbital expansion of these moons, as determined by tidal resonance theory, is similar to the expansion rate of the Universe. These findings are in conflict with the widely held view that cosmological expansion does not operate at the local level.
