Abstract
Slovenski misijonarji, ki so delovali v Združenih državah Amerike, so zaradi poznanja indijanskih jezikov prevzemali misijonske naloge tudi med indijanskimi plemeni v kanadski provinci Ontario. Za to so jih prosili kanadski škofje. Indijanci so uporabljali knjige, ki so jih pripravili slovenski misijonarji. Šlo je za vzpostavljanje stikov na ravni razvoja verskega življenja, ustvarjanja cerkvenih struktur in vključevanja v življenje indijanskih plemen elementov, ki so jih misijonarji razumevali kot izraz izboljševanja njihovih življenjskih razmer in uveljavljanja pravic kot etnične skupnosti. Na prispevek[1] slovenskih misijonarjev še danes spominjajo nekateri kulturno-sakralni in tiskani spomeniki ter jubilejni dogodki.
