Cette contribution se propose d’étudier la manière dont le Moyen Âge est mobilisé pour « vendre » un espace (pays, région, département, commune…) en France et dans quelques pays de l’Union européenne, par le biais du marketing territorial. Avec un corpus de plus d’une centaine d’images, seront étudiés non seulement les modalités de ce marketing (identification des vecteurs de médiévalité, recensement des démarches d’attractivité) mais aussi les effets de ces campagnes de promotion sur l’image même du Moyen Âge.
