Abstract
Après deux décennies de profonds bouleversements, dont il semble résulter une multiplication des frontières isolant les unes des autres les différentes composantes de la population irakienne, l’évolution de l’établissement des chrétiens d’Irak présente de nombreux signes de repli communautaire. C’est notamment le cas dans le district d’Ankawa, en banlieue d’Erbil, capitale de la région autonome du Kurdistan irakien. Or, l’exemple de la ville de Kirkouk s’avère à différents égards plus intéressant encore, car il réunit plusieurs des enjeux auxquels l’Irak contemporain est confronté. Ainsi, le développement du faubourg de Sekanian constitue une illustration probante de la tendance isolationniste de la communauté chrétienne d’Irak dans un contexte national extrêmement tendu et instable.
