Abstract
Resumo: Há uma dificuldade teórica na economia do argumento de O Príncipe, notadamente no capítulo IX, quando trata da astúcia afortunada necessária ao príncipe novo. No período que abre esse capítulo central na economia da obra, temos a mobilização de noções fundamentais do pensamento político maquiaveliano, como virtù, fortuna, cidadão particular e, também, a astúcia figura como atributo importante. Ora, sobre a astúcia afortunada, Maquiavel pouco disserta, ao contrário, ela não recebe uma atenção expositiva, a despeito de sua relevância no rol das qualidades políticas necessárias ao príncipe, donde a questão em como pensar a astúcia afortunada do príncipe novo. A fim de se entender melhor esse conceito maquiaveliano, pretende-se aproximá-lo, primeiramente, à métis grega, o que permite compreender melhor o que seja essa qualidade que se requer do príncipe novo. Em seguida, a partir da economia argumentativa da obra, extrair uma compreensão dessa qualidade política.
