Abstract
La révolution islamique de 1979 représente un tournant pour la photographie iranienne. Définir les caractéristiques de ce moment historique qui croise l’histoire du pays avec celle de la photographie est toutefois une entreprise ardue, les liens, les usages et les relations qui se tissent entre images et événements étant toujours multiples. La collection de livres photographiques Darabi (1979-1981) nous offre une extraordinaire porte d’entrée pour aborder ces questions. Notre propos est de montrer que ce nouveau type de publication loin d’être un simple support, devient un véritable lieu d’expérimentation où la photographie dialogue avec d’autres formes visuelles. Nous verrons surtout que le livre photographique contribue significativement au développement du reportage d’auteur en offrant aux images une plateforme de circulation en dehors de la presse. C’est précisément cette rencontre, entre la forme du reportage et le format du livre, que nous nous proposons d’étudier ici à partir d’une sélection d’ouvrages de cette collection.
