Abstract
The text examines the concepts of nonhuman animal agency and resistance through an analysis of animal sanctuaries, which are conceptualized as laboratories for developing new interspecies interactions. It emphasizes the distinction between shelters and sanctuaries, focusing on how non-human animals can actively participate in shaping and transforming the spaces they inhabit.
