Abstract
O artigo analisa o romance El discurso vacío, do escritor uruguaio Mario Levrero (2011). O livro, na forma de um diário, narra os dias de Levrero com sua família acrescido de exercício caligráficos, que, para o autor, seriam capazes de melhorar sua personalidade. Apesar de tratar de um microcosmo familiar e de elementos introspectivos, apresenta um diálogo com fatores externos na medida que, na figura do autor apresentada no diário encontramos uma oposição às demandas sociais por desempenho que surgem por meio da racionalidade neoliberal. Como fundamentação, utilizaremos o conceito de racionalidade neoliberal (Dardot; Laval, 2020), bem como análises acerca de relação entre subjetividade e neoliberalismo presentes em (Alemán. 2016) e (Han, 2015). Concluímos que o livro apresenta a narrativa de um sujeito que se opõem a racionalidade neoliberal.
