Le mouvement parasportif français s’est construit de manière atypique, avec une structuration hybride entre le milieu sportif spécifique et le milieu sportif ordinaire ; structuration qui continue à évoluer. Outre les deux fédérations spécifiques, de plus en plus de fédérations ordinaires organisent la pratique parasportive. Ces transformations organisationnelles du parasport en France entraînent des évolutions institutionnelles, notamment concernant le Comité Paralympique et Sportif Français (CPSF). Ce dernier accompagne les fédérations spécifiques comme ordinaires ayant en charge l’organisation d’une ou plusieurs disciplines parasportives. Le CPSF met en place des actions transversales au sein du mouvement sportif et parasportif, de la société civile, associative, etc., afin de participer à l’amélioration de la pratique parasportive. Une autre finalité est aussi de faire évoluer le regard de la société sur le handicap. Les défis et les enjeux sont donc nombreux, et le CPSF s’appuiera sur tous les acteurs et évènements, dont les Jeux Paralympiques de Paris pour faire connaître le parasport.
