Abstract
There is a rock on the coast of Galicia, Spain, that is called the Waving Stone of Muxía. It used to move and produce a sound with a strong cultural value for the community but, unfortunately, it broke during a storm in 2016. Through a series of works based on its story, the artist aims to reflect on the complex situation of the Galician oral-transmitted culture in a context of minoritization. Nevertheless, the intention is not to describe it but to find in the breaking of the Waving Stone some kind of resistance; to show how in a moment of forced transformation a subaltern culture keeps finding ways to transmit itself and survive.
