En este artículo proponemos una reconstrucción del proyecto enciclopédico de Sánchez Labrador (en adelante SL) conservado en forma manuscrita que hasta hoy no está editado completamente y sobre el cual gracias a manuscritos redescubiertos recientemente podemos acceder a un examen más claro de quienes nos presidieron. Su proyecto enciclopédico (la expresión es del historiador de los jesuitas Guillermo Furlong, 1931) era tripartido en varias secciones: Paraguay Católico (en adelante: PCatólico), Paraguay Natural (en adelante: PNatural) y Paraguay Cultivado (en adelante: PCultivado). Hemos conseguido encontrar la última parte que faltaba de la obra, el Paraguay Cultivado, en la Hispanic Society de Nueva York. Mostramos la estructura de la obra en su plano inicial y cómo los manuscritos llegaron a dispersarse y quiénes fueron sus primeros propietarios después de la muerte del autor.
