Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery (WUPCHS) Curriculum Webinars that focused on Pulmonary Atresia + Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD): the 32nd Curriculum Webinar about Pulmonary Atresia + Ventricular Septal Defect without major aortopulmonary collateral arteries (MAPCAs) and the 33rd Curriculum Webinar about Pulmonary Atresia + Ventricular Septal Defect with MAPCAs.The goal of this series of articles is to summarize these 2 webinars and provide up to date information about the following domains related to this complex congenital cardiovascular malformation: definitions, nomenclature, classification, anatomy, morphology, embryology, diagnostic evaluation, treatment, and outcomes."Pulmonary Atresia + VSD" is defined as a congenital cardiovascular malformation in which there is no opening between any ventricle and the pulmonary arterial tree and there is a hole or pathway between the ventricular chambers.Tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia is the most common intracardiac anatomy of pulmonary atresia + VSD.In the universe of patients with pulmonary atresia + VSD, the anatomy and morphology of the pulmonary circulation to a large extent determines the surgical approach and overall outcome, with the intracardiac anatomy playing a secondary role.
