Abstract
Abstract: It is generally accepted that Phryne’s disrobement in court was invented by either Idomeneus or Hermippus, and that the comic poet Posidippus was unaware of the anecdote. This paper argues that the story was already current and that Posidippus (fr. 13 KA) alludes to it for comic effect. Abstract: Il est généralement admis que le déshabillage de Phryné devant le tribunal a été inventé soit par Idoménée soit par Hermippe, et que le poète comique Posidippe ne connaissait pas l’anecdote. Cet article soutient que l’histoire était déjà connue à l’époque de Posidippe et que celui-ci (fr. 13 KA) y fait allusion pour produire un effet comique.
