Abstract
Localisé dans une boucle de la Drôme, à cinq milles en aval de Die (Dea Augusta Vocontiorum), le site de la Condamine est connu depuis le XIXe siècle pour recéler les vestiges d’une villa, dont une mosaïque qui, singulière par sa stylistique, a été déposée en 1974. Ce potentiel établissement domanial organisé autour de deux cours livre un ensemble bâti de taille « hors norme » se développant sur une surface quadrangulaire de 140 m de longueur pour 125 m de largeur. Sur ce site d’environ 10 hectares en bordure de la voie des Voconces dont le tracé est sans doute observable sur l’emprise, un vaste sanctuaire romain tri-portique prenant place sur une aire sacrée datée du Ier s. av. J.-C., un chai, un ensemble funéraire, ainsi qu’au moins trois autres ensembles bâtis difficilement qualifiables ont également été reconnus. L'interprétation de ce complexe rural dont la chronologie est comprise entre la fin du IIe s. av. et le IIe s. ap. J.-C. reste, en l'état actuel des observations, ouverte aux hypothèses. Il s’agit ici de dresser un premier bilan des dix dernières années de recherches.
