Abstract
Eutectic high entropy alloys (EHEAs) typically consist of two phases with distinct structures and properties, for example, soft and hard phases that deform heterogeneously. In this study, we report the deformation and failure phenomena in a near-EHEA (AlCoFeNi 2 ) with face-centered cubic (FCC) and ordered body-centered cubic (B2) phases under high strain rate impacts (up to ∼7 × 10 3 s -1 ). We find that such EHEA undergoes localized softening via the shear rupture of the brittle B2 phase, leading to high plastic strains at failures. Moreover, a majority of cracks initiate along cumulative wavy-slip traces within the B2 grains due to strain localizations. This study improves the understanding of the deformation and fracture mechanisms of EHEAs under dynamic impact conditions.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from it
