Abstract
Ein »Dauerbrenner«! Für die neue Auflage haben die Autoren überprüft, ob ihre vor immerhin 20 Jahren gesammelten Aussagen immer noch gültig sein könnten und haben sich nach intensiver Diskussion entschlossen, eine grundlegend überarbeitete Fassung des Buches zusammenzustellen. Die Neuauflage enthält viele überarbeitete und einige wenige praktisch unveränderte Beiträge dazu auch neue Beiträge, etwa zu rechtlichen Aspekten der Selbstbestimmungsdiskussion, zum Aspekt der Barrierefreiheit sowie zur Frage der Chancen von Menschen mit sehr hohem Unterstützungsbedarf auf ein selbstbestimmtes Leben. Abgerundet wird das Ganze mit einem Augenzwinkern: In einer »Typologie« stellen sie uns scherzhaft, und doch ein bisschen ernst gemeint, die Frage, wie unterschiedliche »Typen« von Kolleg(inn)en in den letzten 20 Jahren mit dem Gedanken der Selbstbestimmung umgegangen sind. Doch die Grundaussagen bleiben unverändert aktuell: Um das Leitbild »Selbstbestimmung« durchzusetzen, muss sich die Rolle der Professionellen fundamental verändern.
