Abstract
Wie kann Teilhabe für und mit Menschen mit Behinderungen gelingen - auch am Lebensende? Wir erleben aktuell eine Generation von Menschen mit Behinderungen, in der Altern und Hochaltrigkeit, schwere Krankheit und Sterben in selbstverständlicher Weise zum Leben gehören. Damit werden Palliative Care und hospizliche Begleitung für sie, für ihre Angehörigen sowie für die haupt- und ehrenamtlichen Mitarbeiter*innen wichtige Themen, die nach Antworten verlangen. Dies muss in besonderer Aufmerksamkeit geschehen, gut 70 Jahre nach den "Euthanasie"-Morden im Faschismus. Einen möglichen Weg beschritt das von der Robert Bosch Stiftung geförderte Projekt der Lebenshilfe Oberhausen. Zeitintensiv und lebendig wurde palliative Kultur gemeinsam entwickelt. Sterbebegleitung muss "organisiert" werden und braucht den Aufbau vernetzter Strukturen. Sie kann die zunehmend professionalisierten Angebote des Gesundheitswesens nutzen, lebt aber auch zugleich von Nähe und Freundschaft, dem Blick des Herzens. Das vorliegende Buch dokumentiert den Prozess, teilt Erfahrungen, Reflexionen und kritische Impulse und will zur Diskussion und Vernetzung einladen. Ferner stellt es im Anhang konkrete Materialien zur Verfügung. Die Bandbreite von Leichter Sprache bis zu wissenschaftlichen Texten spricht eine große Zielgruppe an, macht es zu einem inklusiven Buch
