Abstract
Menschen mit Behinderung werden um ein Vielfaches häufiger Opfer von Gewalt, sexuellem Missbrauch und Diskriminierungen als der Bevölkerungsdurchschnitt. Dies gilt sowohl für Gewalterfahrungen im häuslichen als auch im institutionellen Umfeld. Auch das Ausmaß von Grenzverletzungen, Aggression und Gewalt gegen Mitarbeitende der Behindertenhilfe in ihrem Arbeitsalltag, darf nicht unterschätzt werden. Dienste und Einrichtungen für Menschen mit Behinderung müssen dem Rechnung tragen und wirksame und umfassende Gewaltpräventions- und Interventionskonzepte entwickeln.Diese müssen sich konsequent an den Prinzipien (Selbst-)Reflexion, Selbstbestimmung und Partizipation sowie Transparenz und Kommunikation ausrichten.
