Abstract
Dans les premières décennies du 20e siècle, les monographies dites de paroisse connaissent, selon Maurice Lemire, une « exceptionnelle vogue » au Québec. Genre populaire mais malaimé, ces ouvrages, issus d’une pratique citoyenne de l’histoire, ont été fort peu étudiés. Sans en nier les limites et les faiblesses, ils participent à la diffusion d’une sensibilité historique. Jetant un premier coup d’oeil sur l’ensemble de cette production, cette note de recherche dépouille la bibliographie des « histoires de paroisse » publiée par Antoine Roy en 1938 pour en dégager, après un court bilan historiographique, certains traits et quelques pistes de recherche futures.
