Les pratiques didactiques dans les classes de français au secondaire ont évolué avec l’avènement du numérique, surtout au cours des dix dernières années. Par conséquent, il devient nécessaire de s’intéresser aux manières de diversifier l’enseignement, entre autres de la littérature, afin d’intégrer la dimension numérique dans les apprentissages scolaires. Parallèlement, la recherche sur le jeu vidéo démontre, entre autres, son potentiel engageant, élément central dans l’apprentissage des élèves. C’est pourquoi nous nous questionnons sur l’apport du jeu vidéo en classe et les manières de le didactiser afin de valoriser cette pratique privée en contexte éducatif. Cette recension des écrits met en lumière les avantages de transposer le jeu vidéo en contexte scolaire, tout en cernant les limites de son utilisation. En outre, nous soulignons que les codes du jeu vidéo rendent possible l’immersion fictionnelle, qui elle-même favorise l’engagement.
