There has been a surge in interest in space exploration in recent years. This has resulted in numerous technological advancements, a better understanding of the universe, and improved surveillance capabilities. The government, academia, and private sector have come together to create programs like the In-Space Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing (ISAM) Design Challenge. The objective of the ISAM challenge is to develop technology for space manufacturing, which opens up endless possibilities and reduces the need for certain space missions. One of the biggest difficulties with manufacturing in space is the challenge of transporting materials. However, the development of a satellite with fully automated manufacturing capabilities could create lighter and lower-strength structures. This paper summarizes the details of three autonomous manufacturing payloads for the ISAM Design Challenge that can be utilized in orbit.
