• This scoping review sheds light on NP postgraduate professional integration programs. • Countries, including Australia, USA, and UK, are reviewed as exemplar structures. • The findings may help inform postgraduate curriculum development in Canada. • A novel framework is presented to propel the discussion of postgraduate NP education.
