Abstract
The integrationist conception of Turtle Island is far from having materialized in the field of public procurement in North America. While NAFTA did contain a chapter on government procurement, this covered only a limited proportion of contracts. Above all, the hardening of protectionist trade policies in the United States greatly affected Gary Snyder's vision of integration. Indeed, the negotiation of the CUSMA during the Trump era led to the exclusion of the question of government procurement, at least between Canada and the United States. Finally, the approach adopted by President Biden has further closed Canadian suppliers' access to US government procurement markets.
