Abstract

This paper presents the coverage measurements and path loss results of a 5G indoor signal within a conference classroom (Sala FIUN) located in the laboratories of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the National University of Colombia. It was used an experimental setup for the measurement of path loss at millimeter wave frequencies which using mainly Sivers Semiconductors transceiver equipment and Ettus Research USRPs. The setup integrates several hardware and software components to carry out the measurements. The 26 GHz frequency was chosen for the experimental test and then the results of indoor Line of Sight (LoS) were compared with the reference models 3GPP TR 38.901, METIS and NYU finding close values between the experimental part and the reference models. These results are expected to be important to review the coverage behavior of a commercial 5G network in Colombia at the 26 GHz band millimeter wave frequency.
