Abstract
Dans cet article écrit à deux mains, Simon Dubois et Waël Ali reviennent sur un pan peu connu de l’histoire du théâtre syrien contemporain. En effet, leur démarche d’archivage d’une histoire sensible de l’engagement en Syrie durant les années 1980 les a conduits à reconstituer l’expérience d’une troupe de théâtre clandestine en prison. Ils réalisent ici un retour historique et analytique sur ces pièces en cellule qui ont été mises en scène entre 1987 et 1991 dans la prison de Saidnaya, où plusieurs militants de l’opposition étaient emprisonnés.
