Abstract
Este trabajo explora el modo en que las nociones de engañar y desengañar funcionan en un periodo histórico de cambio. Entre el Barroco y la Ilustración, esas nociones ya no expresan una visión del mundo marcada por la omnipresencia del catolicismo sino que se abren a una visión secular y científica de la realidad. Se analizan aquí ideas y opiniones que permiten clarificar los elementos fundamentales del cambio histórico y cultural que tiene lugar entre la segunda mitad del siglo XVII y la primera mitad del siglo XVIII. Por último, se analiza como caso de estudio los tres Desengaños de Juan Ferreras, publicados entre 1710 y 1711, es decir, durante la guerra de Sucesión de España.
