interpretation may be confounded by other conditions, particularly OSA, which can also affect cortical excitability.Additionally, reduced or absent second-phase masseter inhibitory reflexes (SP2) suggest dysfunction in the trigeminal inhibitory circuits within the brainstem.These findings suggest the potential involvement of both the cortical and brainstem regions in the underlying pathophysiology of sleep bruxism.Further research is needed to explore therapeutic interventions targeting these mechanisms.
