Abstract
This case study examines the challenge Metro Regional University (MRU) faces regarding increased competition in the greater Washington area, focusing on risk management and marketing positioning. Higher education institutions (HEI) contend with multiple market changes, including declining enrollment, rising costs, increased political pressures, and competition. This analysis focuses on the importance of a comprehensive enterprise risk management (ERM) strategy to approach these issues and create organizational resilience. Recommendations include defining objectives, conducting extensive internal analyses, evolving marketing strategies, and enhancing internal communication to engage all stakeholders. MRU can improve its competitive position by implementing these strategies, ensuring its viability in a changing educational environment.
