J'ai l'honneur de rédiger mon premier éditorial à l'occasion de la publication inaugurale de 2025 du Canadian Liver Journal, en tant que 22e présidente de l'Association canadienne pour l'étude du foie (ACEF).Avant toute chose, j'aimerais saluer le dévouement et le leadership du rédacteur en chef du Canadian Liver Journal, le Dr Eric Yoshida, ainsi que de sa rédactrice adjointe, la Dre Natasha Chandok.Grâce à leurs efforts, la revue est devenue une ressource précieuse pour la recherche et la formation en hépatologie, tant au Canada qu'à l'international.Cela dit, j'ai d'abord été intimidée par l'invitation du Dr Yoshida à écrire sur « tout sujet en lien avec les maladies du foie qui me semble important ».La mission de l'ACEF est de faire progresser la santé hépatique grâce à la recherche, la formation et la sensibilisation.Depuis sa création en 1984, l'organisation s'est développée sous l'égide de mes prédécesseurs au point de devenir une voix hautement respectée sur la scène nationale et internationale.Comme beaucoup d'entre vous le savent déjà, j'ai consacré une grande partie de ma carrière à la recherche
