La mère patrie est le second volet de son projet trilogique pro indépendantiste du Québec. L’essayiste dans ses deux premiers essais mordants performe, à travers une rhétorique politique et sociologique, une écriture-programme qui autopsie l’époque contemporaine en général et dessine le rêve d’un Québec indépendant, en particulier.
