Cet article explore une forme de résistance musicale à la crise extrême et multiforme qu’a représenté la Seconde Guerre mondiale, et plus précisément la détention dans les prisons et les camps nazis, à travers deux ensembles de chansons réécrites sur des airs connus par des Résistantes françaises déportées : d’une part un recueil de chansons de prison inventées entre 1941 et 1944 et rassemblées par la bibliothécaire Yvonne Oddon vers 1945, et d’autre part l’opérette-revue Le Verfügbar aux Enfers, notée en 1944 par l’ethnologue Germaine Tillion dans le camp de Ravensbrück. À travers ces deux cas d’étude de résistance féminine et collective par la musique, nous détaillons cinq grandes fonctions que peut remplir le chant face à une crise d’une telle ampleur : entretenir la mémoire de la liberté, faire circuler l’information, garder prise sur le réel, rire malgré tout et, enfin, alimenter la solidarité et l’espoir.
