Abstract
Öz Bu araştırmanın amacı, Web of Science Core Collection veri tabanında, eğitim araştırmaları kategorisinde yer alan sosyal bilgiler eğitimi üzerine yayımlanmış makalelerin bibliyometrik analizini gerçekleştirmektir.Bibliyometrik araştırmalar, bir alanda yapılan bilimsel araştırmalara ulaşmak, bu alana öncülük yapan araştırmacıları tanıtmak, yaptıkları çalışmaları incelemek ve araştırmaların genel çerçevesini çizmeyi ve alandaki eğilimleri ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır.Araştırma, betimsel tarama modelinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. R-Studio programında bulunan "bibliometrix" paketine uyumlu olması nedeniyle Web of Science veri tabanında bulunan veriler "txt" formatında çekilmiştir.Elde edilen veriler, açık kaynak kodlu bir istatistik programı olan R programında bulunan R-Studio programlama dilinde "bibliometrix" paketi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir.Gerçekleştirilen analizler sonucunda; Web of Science veri tabanında sosyal bilgiler eğitimine yönelik en fazla makale yayımlayan dergilerin Theory and Research in Social Education, en fazla yayın yapan yazarların Sharon Vaughn, Elizabeth Swanson ve Jeanne Wanzek olduğu, sosyal bilgiler eğitimi alanında yaptıkları çalışmaların h-indeksi en yüksek olan yazarın ise Sharon Vaughn, olduğu tespit edilmiştir.En fazla makale üreten ilk üç ülkenin ABD, Türkiye ve Kanada, yabancı ülkelerdeki araştırmacılarla iş birliğine en açık ülkenin ise ABD olduğu tespit edilmiştir.Bu araştırmanın sosyal bilgiler eğitimi alanında araştırma yapmayı planlayan araştırmacılar için alan hakkında kapsamlı ve detaylı bir projeksiyon ortaya koyacağı düşünülmektedir.
