Cet ouvrage est une première en langue française car il met en évidence la contribution incontournable mais méconnue des conseillers et des ingénieurs pédagogiques dans le développement de cours et de programmes en ligne dans les universités francophones européennes et canadiennes par le truchement de vingt études de cas. Il lève le voile sur les pratiques de ces professionnels qui travaillent de concert et au quotidien avec les professeurs d’université afin d’améliorer la qualité de l’enseignement, tout en le rendant plus accessible. Les cas dans ce collectif international permettent de cerner les défis que relèvent ces équipes, les problèmes qu’elles doivent affronter et les solutions qu’elles réussissent à trouver et à mettre en œuvre dans des conditions qui sont rarement idéales. Dans ce contexte, l’apport de ces conseillers et ingénieurs pédagogiques est essentiel, bien que les actions précises qu’ils assurent et leur rôle véritable ne soient pas toujours connus par les décideurs universitaires et les professeurs. Ainsi, pour mieux comprendre les coulisses de la formation en ligne dans l’enseignement supérieur, ces vingt cas offrent aux praticiens de l’enseignement en ligne de très bons exemples concrets d’innovations pédagogiques, technologiques ou organisationnelles. Ils apportent aussi aux chercheurs un terrain fécond d’investigation scientifique.
