Abstract
Imaginez une tête forte au Séminaire de Saint-Hyacinthe entre 1843 et 1848. Imaginez un étudiant en droit qui s’investit dans un journal indépendant et anticlérical entre 1849 et 1851 et qui tire sur tout ce qui est réformiste, sur tous « les ventrus » du pouvoir. C’est ce jeune homme qui est présenté dans ce livre, à travers sa correspondance, ses conférences, ses articles. Le fils cadet (1829-1851) et méconnu de Louis-Joseph Papineau mena à Paris et au Bas-Canada une vie aussi intense que brève.
