Abstract
Este trabajo proporcionamos una descripción y análisis sintáctico de diferentes tipos de cuantificadores en Chuj. Analizamos un subconjunto de expresiones que cuantifican sobre entidades y que suelen aparecer en la posición inicial de oración. Proponemos que deben distinguirse tres tipos de cuantificadores: (i) predicativos, que aparecen de manera obligatoria en posición inicial de la oración porque el Chuj es una lengua de predicado inicial; (ii) de foco, que son determinantes especificados lexicalmente con un rasgo de enfoque, causando que las frases nominales a las cuales cuantifican aparezcan en la periferia izquierda; y (iii) básicos, que son determinantes que carecen del rasgo de enfoque, y entonces no hay efectos sobre la posición sintáctica de los argumentos a los cuales cuantifican.
