The Array of Long Baseline Antenna for Taking Radio Observations from the Seventy-ninth parallel (ALBATROS) is an interferometer that aims to map Galactic foregrounds at <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\leq 30\text{MH}z$</tex>. In its current phase, ALBATROS is a pathfinder for future experiments that will observe the cosmic ‘dark ages' through the 21-cm neutral hydrogen signal. The era of the cosmic dark ages occurs prior to the cosmic dawn and after the period of recombination. Due to the expansion of the universe, the 21-cm signal emitted during the cosmic dark ages is redshifted to <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\leq 30\text{MH}z$</tex>. However, terrestrial observations in this frequency range are challenging due to ionospheric attenuation and refraction that corrupt the incoming sky signal as well as the presence of man-made radio frequency interference (RFI).
