Abstract
This reflection on Sneja Gunew’s career-spanning interest in cosmopolitanism engages her analysis of minority writers; her pedagogy; as well as her desire to expand knowledge regimes and unsettle normative assumptions. I explore how Gunew’s own positionality and family history shaped her deep interest in this area. Finally, I consider Gunew’s lasting influence on my own research on the valences of negative cosmopolitanism.
